The Talley Lightweight Alloy Scope Mount is a one-piece structure. The sight and the rifle have no connection because of the rigid design. Traditional two-piece designs can have an "out of alignment" interface or a "loose connection" between the ring and the base, but not with the Talley Lightweight unitized design. In the end, this gives better strength and longevity than steel rings and bases while also being lighter overall. We can give you with the strongest, lightest mount system on the market by extruding the 7000 series alloy, which is noted for its endurance, and then precision CNC machining the mount to its final design.
