This can be the perfect varmint bullet for you if you fire a rifle chambered in 222 or 223 Remington. In order to provide the best terminal performance, this bullet is developed for the velocity levels typical of these two common rifle cartridges. It frequently provides accuracy on par with our renowned MatchKings. Sierra Spitzer points are streamlined for performance downrange. This lightly jacketed bullet, which is intended to be completely frangible upon impact, should only be used in barrels with "ordinary" twist rates (1.12 or 1.14). Bullets can shatter in midair if used in barrels with a high twist rate.
This bullet is one that may be used in any 22 caliber centerfire pistols chambering medium to large capacity cartridges for varmint hunting applications. It is thin-jacketed, designed for velocities below 3600 FPS, and extremely explosive. This bullet may be a great option for all but the smallest of the 22 centerfire cartridges due to its good expansion characteristics at all typical ranges and traditional Sierra match grade accuracy. The Sierra Spitzer design produces a flat trajectory with a high ballistic coefficient, great downrange energy retention, and low sensitivity to vertical and crosswinds. Knowledgeable hand gunners all over the world favor the Blitz due to its improved expansion properties on small animals.
