The 142 grain #1742 bullet has a greater ogive radius than the 140 grain #1740 bullet, resulting in a better ballistic coefficient and less crosswind sensitivity.
MatchKing and Tipped MatchKing bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications, despite their worldwide reputation for record-breaking accuracy. Despite the fact that MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing bullets are often employed for varmint hunting, their design does not give the same consistent explosive expansion in varmints as their thinly jacketed Hornet, Blitz, or Varminter counterparts at equal velocities.
